Job Opportunity

Application details for Seasonal Assistant Grower

History

The Natural Vegetable Company is a Soil Association certified market garden based just outside Inverness.  It was founded in 2003 by Maggie Sutherland who has steadily grown the business over the years.  We grow and deliver a complete range of seasonal veg to households and restaurants in the Inverness area.

Background

We work together as a small team to nurture plants from seed to mature plants ready for harvesting, packing and delivering direct to our customers.  We are primarily working with hand tools although we do still use a tractor.  We are currently moving away from tractor use and towards hand tools as it is more cost effective and less dependant on fossil fuels.  We grow around 40 different vegetable varieties each year.  Some varieties are grown inside our 4 large polytunnels, and others are better suited outside.
